▶ GLOSSARY

Every word Karma uses, in plain language

Karma reads the chain and says what it found. Some of the words are trader shorthand; here is what each one means, and why it matters to you. How the grade is computed is on how it grades.

HOW A GRADE IS WORKED OUT

S to F, from three counts

  1. Count three things across the caller's settled calls. How often they sold into you (bought before the post, sold half within 30 minutes at a profit). How often following them cost money (down a day later, collapsed, or the coin went nowhere). How often the coin gave a real 2× chance.
  2. Compare with a typical caller. Across 533 callers and 11,779 calls, a typical caller sells into followers on 20% of calls, costs followers money on 74%, and gives a 2× chance on 25%.
  3. Be fair to thin records. With few calls, luck dominates, so each rate is pulled toward the typical rate, less and less as calls pile up. Five lucky calls can't make an S; five unlucky ones can't make an F. That's why every grade shows a range: fewer calls, wider range.
  4. One number, 0 to 100, where a typical caller scores 50. Selling into followers weighs most (it's squared): every point of it costs a lot. Then the money: losing less often than typical lifts the score, getting 2× chances lifts it a little. The money part can move the score at most ×0.5 to ×1.5.score = 50 × ((1 − sold) ÷ (1 − 0.196))² × money · money = (typical loss rate ÷ their loss rate)² × √(their 2× rate ÷ typical 2× rate)
  5. Letters from the score: S 80+, A 66+, B 50+, C 38+, D 26+, F below. Top letters must also earn it on money: an A needs followers doing better than typical, an S also needs rare selling into followers.
  6. Floors no score can beat. Selling into followers 1.4× as often as a typical caller caps the grade at D, 2× at F. No 2× chance in 6+ settled calls caps it at C.

WORKED EXAMPLE

A caller with 20 settled calls: sold into followers on 6, cost followers money on 14, gave a 2× chance on 6.

  • · sold into followers: 6 of 20 is 30%; pulled toward typical, 26.5%
  • · cost money: 70%, pulled to 71.8% (a bit better than typical 73.6%); 2× chances: 30%, pulled to 26.6%
  • · money factor: (73.6 ÷ 71.8)² × √(26.6 ÷ 25.1) = ×1.08
  • · score: 50 × (73.5% ÷ 80.4%)² × 1.08 = 45, between C (38) and B (50): a C

For scale: a perfectly typical caller scores 50 (B). An honest one with good picks (sold into followers once, 9 chances to double) scores 94 (S). One who sold into followers on half their calls scores 27, and the floor makes it an F.

THE LETTERS

  • SChad: rarely sells into followers and followers did clearly better than usual (needs 15+ settled calls)
  • ASolid: followers did better than usual (needs 10+ settled calls)
  • BFair: about as good as a typical caller for the people who follow
  • CCoinflip: worse than typical for followers
  • DExit Liquidity: sells into followers more than most callers
  • FLarper: sells into followers about twice as often as most, or worse

Why these weights: they were measured, not chosen. The full method, and how it was tested on calls the model never saw, is on how it grades.

THE BASICS

Receipt
The on-chain proof behind something Karma says: a transaction anyone can open on Solscan and check. Karma never asks you to trust it; every claim links to its receipt.
Why it matters: If a line on Karma has no receipt behind it, Karma doesn't say it.
Caller
Someone who publicly tells their followers to buy a coin, on pump.fun or X.
Why it matters: Karma grades callers on what happened to the people who listened.
Call (callout)
One public 'buy this' post about one coin, with the price at the moment it was posted.
Settled call
A call old enough to judge: at least a day has passed, so Karma knows how it turned out for followers.
Open call (pending)
A call too recent to judge yet. It doesn't count toward a grade until it settles.
Dev (deployer)
The wallet that launched the coin.
Verdict
Karma's one-line read of a coin or wallet: SAFE / CAREFUL / DANGER on the coin page header, clean / caution / coordinated / danger on the holder scan.
Why it matters: A coin's verdict can change after launch: new callers arrive, wallets with bad records buy in. The page shows what changed and when.

GRADING CALLERS

Grade (S to F)
How following a caller has gone for the people who did. S and A: followers did better than usual. B: about typical. C: below typical. D and F: they tend to sell into their own followers.
Why it matters: It's not how much the caller made. A caller can get rich and still be an F.
Sold into you
The caller bought before posting, then sold a big part of their bag within about 30 minutes of the call, at a profit. Your buy was their exit.
Rugged
The coin collapsed to near zero after the call, with no real chance to get out.
Hit 2×
The coin at least doubled from the call price, giving followers a real chance to take profit.
Lost / held
Lost: followers were down a day later. Held: it went nowhere much.
Karma score (0 to 100)
The number behind the grade, with a range showing how sure Karma is. Few settled calls mean a wide range.

READING A COIN

Creation block (block 0)
The very first moment a coin exists. Wallets that buy in that same instant almost always knew it was coming.
Why it matters: Big buys in the creation block, sold within seconds, are the classic insider launch.
Sniper
A wallet (usually a bot) that buys in the first seconds or minutes of a launch.
Bundle
Several wallets funded by the same source, buying together. They look like many people; they're one.
Fresh wallet
A wallet born days or hours before it bought. Real traders have history; throwaway wallets don't.
Insider-shaped supply
The share of a coin held by snipers, wallets born just to buy it, and bags moved in from other wallets rather than bought.
Connected wallets (one actor)
Top holders who all got their first SOL from the same wallet. Many names, one owner.
Manufactured book
Top holders holding near-identical amounts. Real crowds buy in all sizes; scripts buy the same size again and again.
Wash volume (turnover)
Trading volume far bigger than the pool could honestly carry: often the same wallets trading back and forth to look busy.
Smart money
Wallets with a strong trading record (GMGN's smart-money tag). Karma shows whether they're buying the coin or leaving it.
KOL
Key opinion leader: an influencer whose wallet is publicly known.
Liquidity (pullable)
The money in the pool that lets you sell. If one wallet can pull it, it can leave you unable to sell at all.
Serial launcher
A dev who has launched many coins and none of them made it. Launching is their business, not this coin.

PATTERNS ACROSS COINS

Crew
A set of wallets that bought the creation block of at least 3 launches together and sold within seconds on most of them. Seen on /proof.
Bot network
A crew that buys launches for many unrelated devs: usually a sniping service or a paid bundler.
Purse (funder)
The wallet that paid a new wallet its first SOL. One purse behind many 'buyers' is the tell of a fake crowd.
Side wallet
A second wallet a caller uses, proven when they fund it or move money to and from it.
Front-runner
A wallet that keeps buying in the minutes before a particular caller posts, then sells after: it knows what's coming.
Copy bot
A wallet that buys within seconds of a caller's own buy, call after call: it's copying their trades automatically.
Pattern vs proven
Pattern: it keeps happening, far more than chance. Proven: a transaction shows the tie.

USING KARMA

Fresh scan
Karma reading a coin live off the chain right now: every holder, who funded them, how they entered. It costs real server time.
Stored scan
A scan Karma already ran recently (under 30 minutes old), shown again without re-reading the chain.
Credits
Paid reads, $0.05 each, bought with $KARMA on /credits. Everyone gets 2 free coin reads a day; $KARMA holders ($5+) read every stored scan free.
